Google Ads Hong Kong

An overview of Google Ads.

Google Ads are the sponsored placements you see on many parts of the internet – mainly on Google search results, YouTube videos, and display ads on websites. Because of the reach of Google Ads, and the data you will have available, you can reach potential customers instantaneously – regardless of where they are in the world. And Google Ads convert impressively well; in fact, over 50% of people who click on your ads will buy at some point in time.

Google Ads run on a system known as PPC (Pay Per Click). This means you only have to pay for the ads that are actually driving traffic to your website and/or landing pages. If no one clicks on your ads, you don’t pay. Plus the reporting on Google Ads is quite robust, meaning you can gather tons of crucial data on your target audience and your overall marketing funnel.

Google Ads aren’t just important – they can be VITAL to the success of your business. Unlike SEO, which can take months to see results, Google Ads give you the ability to start generating leads and sales instantaneously. Imagine having a surge of high-quality leads beginning tomorrow. Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? Well, that’s exactly what Google Ads can do for your business.

Google Ads give you the option to get incredibly granular with your preferences and data, which means that you can create a laser-targeted campaign that helps your bottom line right away. Google Ads are also important for brand awareness, as well as stealing your competitors market share. You can bid on keywords that your competitors are bidding on, which will result in you generating sales from audiences they previously had a firm hold on.

There are three types of Google Ad options. The first type is Search Network Campaigns. These are the ads that you see in Google Search results, usually above the organic results. Out of all Google Ads, we think these are the most powerful, as the results only show up to people looking for terms related to your business – therefore increasing the likelihood of a conversion. Most businesses that engage in Google Ads choose to spend aggressively in Search Network Campaigns.

The second type of Google Ads is Display Network Campaigns. These are the ads you see on websites around the web that accompanied by eye-catching visuals. These types of ads are fantastic for improving brand awareness, as well as generating some traffic. Finally, the third type of Google Ads are Video Campaign ads, which are typically displayed on YouTube – both in text, image, and video form. To have a truly holistic marketing strategy, you will simultaneously combine all three of these ad types to achieve maximum results.

Google Ad bidding can be a complicated topic to fully grasp, and is one of the biggest reasons why most businesses fail, or get subpar results with their ad campaigns. In essence, Google Ads do not have a fixed cost – instead, you will use a bidding system based on multiple factors, including your keywords, countries, and industries that you are targeting. If numerous businesses are bidding on keywords that Google deems relevant to the keywords and search query, then a good old-fashioned bid begins!

This is why it’s crucial that whoever is running your Google Ads campaign knows exactly what they are doing. The entire bidding system can be quite confusing, and one wrong move can lead to heavy consequences. We’ve seen clients lose a ton of money because they thought they were running an ads campaign correctly (spoiler alert, they weren’t!).

The short answer – it really depends. Google determines the cost per click on many factors, including, but not limited to, the location of your business, the area you are targeting, and most importantly, the industry that your business is in. Google understands that different industries have different sales values as well as different lifetime customer values – all of which is taken into consideration. This is one of the biggest reasons why PPC with Google can come across as confusing.

For example, eCommerce businesses, whose margins are typically on the lower end, usually pay around $1-$2 USD per click. Sometimes it’s lower, sometimes it’s higher, but that’s a general average. On the other hand, service-based businesses can pay anywhere from $50-$100 USD per single click! Seems like a lot, right? Well, the customer value is much higher, which rationalizes the cost. For example, a law firm or bookkeeping firm can generate hundreds of thousands of dollars from a single lead, so it all ends up evening out.

To succeed with Google Ads, you need to ensure that you set up your campaign correctly. The setup process is crucial – you need to ensure that you have a clear strategy that is backed up with thorough research. The first thing you need to consider is your KPIs. What are you trying to accomplish with your ad campaign? From there, you need to set a realistic budget. It’s important to set a budget that ensures ultimate growth while gathering enough information to make data-driven decisions.

Next, you will want to identify which keywords you are targeting and make sure that the user intent matches your campaign’s goals and budget. From there, you will need to choose your target audience and the location of the ads. To get people to click on your ads, you will need to write copy that is both alluring to the reader, and optimized for the proper keywords. Once your ads are live, the real work begins – monitoring the data, drawing conclusions and making tweaks until your ads are running at optimal efficiency (and bringing in TONS of sales 🤑).

While a lot of work needs to be done to set up your Google Ads campaign, the real work begins once the campaign is live. This is because you will need to constantly monitor your results, and make crucial adjustments to ensure your ads are completely optimized. There are a few ways that you can optimize your campaign. First up, be sure to audit your campaign structure frequently to ensure that you are following the best practices.

It is also important to constantly monitor, and adjust, your campaign budget and bid. Be sure to do the same for your keywords – always analyze and pivot where need be. Most importantly, you want to ensure you are A/B testing your copy to see what is driving the most conversions. Your copy needs to be both alluring to the user and keyword-rich to communicate relevancy to the Google Ad platform. But don’t overstuff your keywords – this could end up backfiring on you!

If there’s anything true about Google Ads, it’s that they can be quite complicated. Setting up a Google Ads campaign can be challenging enough, but the real time-consuming part is running, monitoring, and adjusting the campaign on a day-to-day basis. But these adjustments are what separates ad campaigns that fail from ad campaigns that deliver 20x ROAS. Which ad campaign would your business rather have? This is why many companies prefer to hire a professional marketing agency to help them run their Google Ads campaigns.

That’s what marketing agencies can help with; running the Ad Campaign so you can focus on what you do best – running your business! A marketing agency will execute the entire campaign, including account setup, market and keyword research, competitive analysis, detailed projections, budget recommendations, campaign execution, copywriting, monitoring results, and making daily changes to optimize your campaign.

Google Ads Keyword Planner is a tool used to identify popular search queries and evaluate their potential value for your campaigns. By analysing search volume, competition levels, and expected cost, we can determine whether incorporating a particular keyword would be a profitable decision for our clients.

Why Google Ads are essential for business growth.

Google Ads can help businesses of all shapes and sizes. It doesn’t matter if you are starting your first business or running the marketing department for a global enterprise – Google Ads work. Smaller companies typically use Google Ads to generate leads and sales. Whether the small business is a service business or an eCommerce business, a well-run Google Ads campaign can help drive leads and sales to your business right away. Larger enterprise businesses also use Google Ads to drive leads and sales, but they also might use a campaign to bring about more brand awareness and impressions or take market-share from their competitors.

Google Ads can help all types of businesses. eCommerce businesses use PPC ads to drive sales, and depending on your niche and your margins, they can be quite profitable. You will be able to see exactly how much you are spending per click, as well as how many clicks it takes to drive a conversion. If you are generating leads, Google Ads are an instrumental way to gain awareness and get your brand in front of potential clients and customers. As long as your business has a budget and the ad campaign is being run correctly, then Google Ads are for you!

When done correctly, Google Ad management can give you and your business many benefits. The most apparent advantage is expertise. By working with an agency, you are getting an entire department of digital-marketing-ninjas who have years of experience getting real results over a variety of industries. Agencies have deep talent pools of strategists, tech specialists, PPC masters, professional copywriters, and more. Working with an agency means extending your company’s marketing department!

A lesser-known benefit of Google Ad management is the cost. Compared to hiring in-house, working with an agency can be highly cost-effective. To run Google Ads in-house, you would need to hire 2-3 full-time employees and buy subscriptions to analytical software they would need. Hiring this type of talent in-house also takes a lot of time, and there is no guarantee that they will stay with your company. But ultimately the best part of working with an ads agency is you don’t have to worry about executing any of the ad campaigns yourself – you sit back, relax, and watch the agency bring your business leads and sales 😎

Google Ad agencies offer the setup, execution, and management of your Google Ad campaigns. They will set everything up for you and conduct all of the necessary research. Many Google Ad agencies will also have their professional copywriting team write the actual copy for your ads. From there, the agency will manage and monitor your campaign – ensuring that everything is running smoothly, but most importantly, looking for opportunities to lower costs and increase clicks and conversions. In essence, they handle everything!

But remember, it’s important to be aware that most Google Ads agencies will offer similar-looking services, but not all agencies can deliver truly exceptional results. To ensure that you partner with a Google Ads agency that can provide jaw-dropping results, you need to make sure they have extensive experience getting actual results in your industry. Be sure to ask them for case studies. If the agency handles everything in-house, has a large team with multiple departments, and is a Google Partner – chances are they will be able to manage your campaign effectively.

When it comes to Google Ads, leads and sales is the name of the game! Google Ads help you get your product and message directly in front of interested people. For example, if you sell men’s sunglasses, you can target the word ‘mens sunglasses’ on Google. Then, when someone types this query into Google, they will likely see your advertisement. This is ideal because you aren’t trying to find new customers in the dark – you can target people already searching for your products and services.

If you are looking for leads, Google Ads also work tremendously well. Let’s say that you own an operation consulting business. By targeting the query ‘operations consulting’ as well as similar queries (‘manufacturing operations consulting’, ‘best operations consulting firms’, ‘operations consulting deloitte’, etc) you can ensure that your Google Ads are getting directly in front of people who are looking for your exact services. Even if the user doesn’t click on your ad, they still might see your business name, meaning you are getting increased brand exposure.

Tracking data on Google Ads can be quite accurate, meaning you can see direct relationships between your ad campaigns spends, and the results they are bringing in. The simplest metric to follow is conversions – if your ads are converting (whether that be bringing in leads or increasing sales) then it’s a good sign that your campaign is indeed working! But it doesn’t just stop there. In fact, leads and sales are only one part of the story when it comes to deciphering whether or not your Google Ads are actually working.

You will also want to follow other metrics such as total impressions, clicks to website, assisted conversions from CPC, and most importantly, your cost per click. Other factors are more difficult to measure – for example, what if someone sees one of your Google Ads but then searches for your business on Instagram and converts there? This is why it’s crucial to know your KPIs and to work with a PPC expert who can help understand the relationship between your ad spend and the results your business is seeing.

Both are certainly viable options, and each has its own set of pros and cons! Most businesses that take their Google Ads in-house do so because they aren’t sure if they can trust an agency. Many companies like the idea of keeping things in-house, thinking that it will give them more control and transparency during the entire process. But while this might sound appealing, the cost of running your Google Ads in-house can be very high. You will have to hire 2-3 specialists, pay them a high salary, and make sure they are knowledgeable and experienced enough to run the campaign themselves.

In contrast, hiring an agency to run your ads is more straightforward, more cost-effective, and typically yields better results. This is because Google Ad agencies are experts in their craft. They run multiple PPC campaigns for multiple businesses in multiple niches, meaning they have the experience to make sure your ads are performing at their optimal level. Ad agencies are also more cost-effective than hiring your own in-house staff. But remember, you have to choose the RIGHT agency – hiring a cheap agency is one of the surest ways to waste your entire marketing budget.

Many people think that choosing the right Google Ads Agency is difficult – but it doesn’t have to be! There are some things to keep an eye out for that will give you the confidence to know whether or not they are the agency for you. First thing – check their reviews on Google. This is one of the easiest ways to gauge the efficiency of an agency. If they deliver fantastic results and treat their clients right, their reviews will reflect this.

Second thing – evaluate the agency’s website. Does it look professional? Does it look modern? Does it look clean? If the agency doesn’t take care of its own business, it probably won’t be able to care for your business. From there, look for case studies on their website. The agency should showcase multiple examples of them getting stellar results for one of their clients. It’s also worth looking into whether they do more than Google Ads – then you can have a single agency handle your entire marketing funnel.

“Is your agency a Google Partner?” – the best Google Ad agencies are the ones that are certified. This means they have the right experience with the platform, have run successful campaigns, and follow the best Google practices. “Am I able to see the actual spending breakdown?” – this needs to be a resounding yes, otherwise the agency might be trying to deceive you. “Have you worked with other businesses in our industry?” – this will help you gauge the experience of the agency within your industry (not crucial, but can be helpful).

“How big is your team?” – smaller teams (1-2 ppl) might not be as efficient as larger teams (5+ ppl). “What is your monthly minimum ad spend?” – this will help you discover whether or not the agency falls within your budget. And finally, it’s always good to ask how the management fees are structured. Some agencies will bill you as a monthly flat fee, others will bill you based on your ad spend. By asking the agency these questions early in the process, you’ll have a much better idea if they are a worth partnering with.
